Forest therapy:
nature as a source of strength
How nature brings body, mind, and soul into balance
The forest has always been more than just a place to go for a walk. In Japan, this was officially recognised as far back as the 1980s. In 1982, Japan’s Forestry Agency coined the term shinrin-yoku (literally “forest bathing") and launched a national health programme that promoted the conscious immersion in forest air as a form of preventive care. Out of this tradition, forest therapy grew into a distinct, scientifically studied wellness and natural-health concept that is now practised across Europe, North America, and Asia.
