The Gardena Valley with its 3 villages Selva Gardena (1,563 m), S. Cristina (1,418 m) and Ortisei (1,236 m) is embedded into the South Tyrolean Dolomites and is probably the most internationally renowned holiday destination in South Tyrol.
The inhabitants are mainly of Roman origin (approx. 85%), called Ladins. In addition to their own Roman language they speak fluent German and Italian. In addition to the splendid nature, the villages of Ortisei, S. Cristina and Selva Gardena (only 8 km away from each other) offer numerous artistic and cultural adventures.
